ABSTRAKT

It has been shown that species of freshwater shrimps of the genus Macrobrachium belonging to the family Palaemonidae with abbreviated larval development can be used for acclimatization in artificial cooling ponds of thermal and nuclear power stations with the purpose of the enrichment of their food stuff and cultivation. The shrimp Exopalaemon modestus (Heller) with a wide range of ecological plasticity and with a high survival rate of its larvae can be used for this purpose.
