ABSTRAKT
The theoretical basis for the process of formation of landslide is developed. For description of the moisture transfer in unsaturated soil for different weather conditions we apply equations, which consider dependence of the gravity potential of the soil forces on volumetric moisture of the soil. The initial and boundary conditions are scientifically justified. The criterion of sliding of the soil masses from the surface of the underlying rocks is derived. The significance of the rootage of plants in formation of landslide is shown.
