A Numerical Study of Microwave Electrodynamic Systems with Losses
ABSTRAKT
Analysis of electrodynamic processes in microwave systems of complex geometry often results in the formulation of the problem, leading to transcendental characteristic equations [1 − 3]. The most complex among them are those where the eigenvalues of differential and integral operators are sought. Normally, the problem is reduced to a set of linear algebraic equations, its determinant being equated to zero yields one of the variety of characteristic equations. In the case of complex-valued coefficients of the set numerical analysis of such an equation proves to be essentially unstable even for sets of first kind. One of the possible ways for obtaining stable solutions is to utilize physical reasoning for the selection of initial approximations in the iterative procedure of searching the roots.
