The Heat Exchanger Design Handbook (HEDH) was first launched in 1983. Since then, it has been continuously updated and now, after two decades and in more than double its original size, remains the standard reference source for design and other information on heat transfer, heat exchangers, and associated technologies. Currently, HEDH contains more then 4,000 pages of technical information compiled and edited by the world’s foremost specialists and is presented in five parts dealing respectively with:

  1. Heat Exchanger Theory
  2. Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer
  3. Thermal and Hydraulic Design of Heat Exchangers
  4. Mechanical Design of Heat Exchangers, and
  5. Physical Properties

In order to make the information searchable and more accessible to the user, Begell House is proud to present HEDH ONLINE, the web version of HEDH, with continuously updated data and information. Now, subscribers are able to gain easier access to HEDH ONLINE at multiple locations, making it particularly suitable for use by individual researchers as well as by design and estimating staff of companies, universities, and other organizations on a multiple basis with immediate and continuously updated access. Simultaneous access for individuals and for multiple users on either a given site or on multiple sites, is available for organizations subscribing on an annual basis.

Users of HEDH ONLINE can also be assured that the material they access is the most up-to-date. This access is achieved rapidly by links to a very extensive and detailed Index and through the Table of Contents. The full text is available and delivered in Adobe Acrobat. To read this text online, a special enlarger feature is made available. There is also a print-out function which allows selective printing of a page or even an entire section.
