摘要

Two dimensional study of the double-diffusive convection in a cavity heated from below is simulated using a finite volume method. The results showed the presence of various solutions in response to simultaneous vertical temperature and species concentration gradients applied to the system. Sherwood number is very sensitive to the dynamic field. However, the heat transfer rate is slightly affected because of the low Prandt number. The bifurcation diagram shows the presence of various solutions and the appearance of weak frequency oscillatory modes from a critical thermal Rayleigh number. This threshold of steady/oscillatory transition is correlated according to the Lewis number.
