NUMERICAL MODELING OF INERTANCE TUBE PULSE TUBE REFRIGERATOR
摘要
Results of the performance evaluation of an inertance type pulse tube refrigerator carried out with the commercial CFD package FLUENT® are presented. The integrated pulse tube model consists of the sub-models for various components, namely, the compressor, compressor cooler, regenerator, cold heat exchanger, pulse tube, hot heat exchanger, inertance tube, and the reservoir. The mathematical model consists of the full set of compressible, axi-symmetric, conservation equations. The porous zones representing the regenerator and the heat exchangers are modeled with thermal non-equilibrium conditions. The interaction of the oscillating flow and heat transfer with the walls of the components is also taken into account. The present analysis relaxes many of the assumptions commonly made in simplified, one-dimensional, thermal equilibrium models. The results obtained from this sophisticated model show that the interaction of the wall and the oscillating flow to be an important factor and that the simplified models tend to over predict the performance of the pulse tube refrigerator. The multidimensional flow patterns occurring in the porous zones and other significant parts of the model are analyzed in detail.
