摘要
The importance of heat transfer problems, both for core meltdown accident description and for design and performance evaluation of safety devices is recalled.
Major out-of-pile programs are described: They deal mainly with sodium boiling, clad melting, local blockages, fuel streaming and freezing, sodium and fuel interaction, core debris behaviour, natural convection in closed cavities, thermal stratification and natural circulation in the main vessel.
In-pile programs SCARABEE and CABRI, are also presented.
