2.3 Heat Transfer between Contacting Non-Conforming Surfaces with Application to CANDU Reactor Safety Analysis
摘要
The problem of heat transfer between contacting, non-conforming surfaces occurs in several instances in the safety analysis of CANDU nuclear power reactors. This paper describes an analytical method for handling three-dimensional transient non-conforming contact problems with complex boundary conditions that permits economical and rapid digital computer solution of such problems. Steady-state experiments were run with a simple three-dimensional contact model to confirm the validity of the approach. Conclusions drawn from the experimental and analytical results of this study as well as from other related CANDU safety studies will facilitate the analysis of such problems.
