摘要

In this paper we analyse an auto-ignition process of a two-phase flow in temporally and spatially evolving mixing layers between the streams of fuel and oxidizer. We focus on influence of droplet size distribution on the auto-ignition time, flame development phase and stabilization length. We apply a high-order numerical code and Implicit Large Eddy Simulations (ILES) method with an evaporation model based on the Spalding formulation. Results show that the ignition time decreases with the co-flow temperature in a slightly non-linear manner. In polydisperse sprays the ignition times are dependent on the spread of the droplets diameters and they ignite faster than their monodisperse counterparts with the same Sauter mean diameters (SMD).
