As a result, 179 species (187 forms including those containing a nomenclature type of a species) of blue-green algae are revealed. Among them, 123 species (137 forms) are first reported for the Mountain Crimea, and 16 species (19 forms) are new for Ukraine. Periphytic and benthic-periphytic forms play the most important role in the formation of Cyanophyta species composition of the investigated territory. Blue-green algae were most diverse and abundant, covering firm inorganic substrates in flowing waters. The systematic structure of Cyanophyta of Mountain Crimea water bodies is similar to those established for the Dinaricic Alps and the Julian Alps, and considerably differs from that described for a plain region of Ukraine. %8 1999-06-16
