Calculation of the Ecologically-Safe Distance between Underwater Quarries and Sea Shores Subjected to Oblique Wave Action

ABSTRACT

A mathematical model of the oblique impingement of waves onto the Dzharlygach Island and the Bakal shoal and mathematical modeling on a YeS-1061 computer of lithodynamic effect of the recession of the edge of an underwater quarry toward the shore is employed to establish that the minimum ecologically safe distance between the shore and the quarry is 2000 m for the Dzharlygakh Island and 1500 m for the Bakal shoal.
