APPLICATION OF AIRCRAFT CARRIER MOTION PREDICTION IN STABILIZATION ALGORITHMS OF THE OPTICAL LANDING SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

This paper discusses issues of increasing the safety and accuracy of aircraft landing on an aircraft carrier in manual mode. It is proposed to apply ship motion prediction in stabilization algorithms of the optical landing system (OLS). It is assumed that the position of the calculated landing point is predicted by the computational system of the carrier during the flight of the aircraft along the glide path. The simulation conducted using the TsAGI PS-10M flight simulator has shown that the application of the ship motion prediction in the OLS stabilization algorithms is extremely effective to increase the landing accuracy in conditions of aircraft carrier motion.
