ON NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF JET NOISE

摘要

This paper presents an attempt to simulate numerically the process of generation of acoustic perturbations in the jet outflow using the ANSYS Fluent software. The effect of various computational conditions on the results is examined. Three different nozzles are considered; i.e., subsonic, supersonic, and two-circuit subsonic. The effect of chevrons on the flow and noise level in the far field is studied for latter configuration. Computational and experimental data for a subsonic one-circuit nozzle are in satisfactory agreement; in essence, data for the two-circuit nozzle agree. The main problem in the numerical simulation consists in numerical instability, which arises in the case of a low-dissipative computational scheme for the calculation of fluxes.
