EFFECT OF THERMAL RADIATION ON MHD BOUNDARY-LAYER FLOW OF A PERFECTLY CONDUCTING FLUID

ABSTRACT

An analytical study of the problem of unsteady hydromagnetic boundary-layer flow with thermal relaxation of a perfectly conducting incompressible fluid past a semi-infinite porous plate in the presence of a heat generating source with thermal radiation is carried out. By means of the successive approximation technique, the governing equations for momentum and energy are solved. Numerical results are given and illustrated graphically for the particular problem when the free-stream velocity depends exponentially on time. The results obtained show that the temperature field is appreciably influenced by the presence of thermal radiation and heat generating source.
