Modeling of the Aerodynamics of the Two-Phase Flow in the Transition Zone of the Freeboard Space of a Reactor with a Circulating Fluidized Bed

ABSTRACT

An approximate semi-empirical model of the aerodynamics for the transition zone of the freeboard space of a reactor with a circulating fluidized bed has been constructed. The model is based on the hypothesis on the exponential reduction of the flow rate of solid substance in the flow core with a longitudinal coordinate. Boundary conditions for the interface between the core and the annular region have been formulated. Examples of numerical results are given.
