Penetration of Electromagnetic Energy into Conducting Media with Gradient Nonlinearities
摘要
The evolution of nonlinear electromagnetic and thermomagnetic structures in a nonequilibrium well-conducting medium is considered. The process includes an anomalous penetration of energy into the medium. In the approximation of electron magnetic hydrodynamics, an induction equation describing the formation of the electromagnetic structures is found. A solution to this equation in the one-dimensional case for a preset magnetic field on the conducting medium surface and for an electromagnetic wave (EW) incident to the surface is obtained. An incident electromagnetic wave forms a magnetic shock wave, which penetrates the medium as long as the incident wave gives off energy. For an electromagnetic field incident to the surface, the effectivenesses of linear and nonlinear energy penetrations are compared.
