Use of Wide-Angle Optical System for Analysis of Capillary Waves in Liquid

ABSTRACT

The use of wide-angle coherent optical system to estimate a capillary disturbance upon the surface of the liquid is suggested. Physical particularities of functioning of the offered system are considered in this application and limitations of its applicability are determined. The results of mathematical simulation and experimental research of the optical system are provided. Frequency and dynamic properties of the system are estimated. High sensitivity of the system to the presence of the surface-active substance is noted.
