ABSTRACT

In [1] we proposed a phenomenological model which allows one to study the principal characteristics of an open resonator excited by a coupling slot between an open resonator and a waveguide. This model provides insight into the physical nature of singularities that arise in the process of exciting open resonators by local coupling elements and are caused by the existence of a nonresonant background in open resonators [2].
